AMB. THADDEUS .D. HART
Born on 26th March 1947, Ambassador Thaddeus Daniel Hart graduated from the University of Lagos where he obtained a B.Sc (Hons) Degree, Second Class Upper Division in Psychology in 1972.
Born on 26th March 1947, Ambassador Thaddeus Daniel Hart graduated from the University of Lagos where he obtained a B.Sc (Hons) Degree, Second Class Upper Division in Psychology in 1972. He joined the Nigerian Foreign Service and served in several Nigerian diplomatic missions abroad, among which were Equatorial Guinea, Egypt, Poland, Spain and Zimbabwe. He was appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Bolivia and Paraguay from 1999-2001.
In 2001, Ambassador Hart was Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until 2003. He was also Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Social Development from 2005 and 2007.
In recognition of his wide administrative and professional experience, Ambassador Hart was recalled to the public service in August 2007 from retirement to serve as the Senior Special Assistant to the President of Foreign Relations, a post he held until 2015.
A Widely travelled and proficient in the Spanish, French and Arabic languages, Ambassador Hart in the course of his career, assisted and participated in numerous high-level international conferences dealing with varied multi-sectoral subjects, at bilateral and multilateral levels. He is a life member of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs and decorated with the National Order of (Brazil), in 2001 and the Nigeria National Honour of the Order of the Niger (OON) in 2002. Ambassador Hart is married and has four children.
